Merry Patterns: Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Wow, a third hop for the month of August! How awesome is that?! We are back to feature a really special set, Merry Patterns. This stamp set is an added bonus to hosts who have an order totaling $300 USD in the months of September and October! That means you will get this awesome stamp set AND the sweet Stampin' Rewards for that level of sales! I love this set. I have just begun to play with it, and I am sure that there will be oodles of ideas for you in this hop. Here is a look at the set:

For those who are new to the Artisan Design Team, here is a little background. We are a group of 20 Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the globe, handpicked by Stampin' Up! to bring you inspiration and projects with the latest and greatest supplies.

If you are following along in order, then you just arrived from Sylwia Schreck's blog. She dazzles me every time with her creativity. 😍

For my first project, I combined the Be Merry DSP and the Pretty Pines thinlits from the Annual catalog to create this very textural card. I used Wild Wasabi and Berry Burst cardstock to create the berry branches and pine boughs that are peaking out of the white triangular panel. I did pull out my MISTI to do the gradient stamping on the "season" stamp, as I wanted very solid inking. I did 2 impressions, inking up first with Wild Wasabi, then sponging on Garden Green on the bottom portion each time. Then, I had much more success freehand stamping the outline, using the centers of the letters to line it all up. And Copper heat embossing the outline image.

This one is a simpler version of the first one. To create those triangular panels, I took a 4¼"x5½" panel of Thick Whisper White and cut it from corner to corner. Then I put one of the triangles in the MISTI, lined up the "season" stamp where I wanted it, and stamped several of these panels in a few color combinations. it was pretty slick, if I do say so myself!
This one uses Berry Burst and Fresh Fig. Very rich and elegant, I think. There is a vellum mat behind the white panel, and the embossing is done with the Holly embossing folder.

Last up, I could not resist combining this set with the Merry Cafe set, and the pumpkin spice everything sentiment! I am actually thinking about making some pumpkin spice yogurt right now! August has taken a bit of a nippy turn for us here in northern Minnesota already! I love autumn, but I was not really quite ready for it to arrive. I hope we get a few more weeks of toasty warm sunshine. 😏
I made a Pumpkin Pie and Peekaboo Peach watercolor wash on watercolor paper. Then I added a little DSP from Coffee Break DSP, and cut a lovely scallop using a die from the Popcorn Box thinlits. Did you know there was a small-ish scallop in that set? And there is a large scallop in the Seasonal Layers die set!

That is all I have for you this time! And if you started with Allison, then I am the last stop, and I hope we have shared loads of inspiration with you. If you haven't been to Allison's blog yet, please keep going! She is sure to amaze you!

Inky Friends Suite Designs blog hop: Pick a Pattern

Hello friends! The Inky Friends, formerly known as the Stampin' Addicts, we have reincarnated ourselves as the Inky Friends. We are doing a blog hop once a month, with a different theme each time. This month, we are featuring different suites from the Annual Catalog!
This hop goes in a circle linking to each blog along the way. But if you get lost, or just want to see the complete blog roll, you can click on the banner at the top of this post, or click here.

If you started somewhere in the middle, be sure to keep clicking-you don't want to miss any of the fun! Yapha Mason is the first stop on the hop, and she is featuring the Coffee Break Suite!

I have chosen to feature the Pick a Pattern Suite. I was completely taken with the dinosaurs and camping scenes in this DSP and stamp set, but there is so much more to enjoy in this suite. So, I wanted to be sure to use other things 😊

Pick a Pattern Suite from Stampin' Up! Quite versatile, and full of trendy imagery.
These mushrooms are adorable! They were the first imagery I decided to play with.

And I used the Labeler Alphabet stamp set to create a punny sentiment inside.

I have been intrigued with the thought of Black on Black embossing of late, and thought this was the perfect project to experiment with it.

Then, I couldn't resist using the Woodland embossing folder with this sweet camping DSP. And playing with my MISTI. Yes, I broke down and got one. But I still do most of my stamping freehand. The MISTI is quite handy for stamping the same image several times in layers of colors though. That bear in the center is Clear embossed, then fussy cut.

Now, this would make a fabulous scrapbooking element in a pocket page! Of course, I thought of that after I made it into a card....
The stamping is all Clear embossing, which looks fabulous on pretty much any color, don't you think?

Here they all are together. Be sure to Pin this for later 😉

Now, it is time to zip off to Rhonda and the Petal Garden Suite!
